NEO MINISTERIAL STANDARDS

(Adopted January 25, 1993; last revised March 25, 2020)

OUR ROLE AS A MINISTERIUM

We believe that it is our duty as a ministerium to maintain a membership which meets ministerial standards. Each pastor coming into the NEO Charis Fellowship District should be asked to sign our District Ministerial Standards. If a man deviates from the standards for ministerial membership, and disciplinary attempts have failed to correct the problems (see handbook), the man should be removed from the ministerial membership and the local church will be informed of this change in status. Annually the ministerium will ask its members to affirm their agreement with our District Ministerial Standards; those who do not sign should not be included on the approved ministerial list submitted to Inspire, preventing them from continuing their membership nationally.

AS A DISTRICT MINISTERIUM, WE EXPECT THIS OF OUR MEMBERS:

1. A lifestyle pleasing to the Lord with moral and spiritual integrity.
2. A conviction that the Charis Fellowship Identity Statement is an accurate interpretation of Scripture.
3. A commitment to harmony between the practice of one's convictions and the Charis Fellowship Identity Statement.
4. A commitment to an active cooperation with other Charis Fellowship pastors, churches, and activities within our District.
5. An awareness of the National current and continuing resolutions and a general acceptance of these resolutions. Strong deviation may be tolerated if a good case can be made from the Scripture which is acceptable to the District Ministerium.
6. Holds a Charis Fellowship pastoral ministry and/or is in a missionary ministry, or he is actively pursuing a pastoral or missionary ministry, or he is a retired/disabled pastor or missionary. Those inactive in ministry for three years and not seriously pursuing a pastorate should be dropped from our membership. Any exception will be evaluated on an individual basis.
7. Faithfulness in paying District (NEO Charis Fellowship) and National (Inspire) dues, unless other arrangements are made due to financial hardship.
If you are unable to fully affirm this agreement, please send us your explanation (neoteam@neocharis.com). It is not our desire to exclude anyone but to help one another in maintaining a clear conscience before God and men. We will proceed together with much grace to discern the Lord's will in how to best help any who have areas where they cannot fully affirm this agreement.
